Description

2/12/26 - This is a near-mint example of a Colt Commando issued to the US military in 1942-43. Listing includes a Colt Archives letter that states this revolver shipped to the San Francisco Port of Embarkation in Oakland on March 27th, 1943.  It also confirms the factory 2in barrel length.  All matching with a US military "flaming bomb" proof on the left side of the frame. Chambered in .38 Special with a 2 inch barrel. It has retained nearly all of its parkerized finish, but there are a few very light surface scuffs here and there and some light spotty oxidation on the cylinder. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips. Mint bore.
