Description
10/15/24 - This is a very nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1945 - marked "svw 45". There were only 15,000 SVW 45's produced, and over 346,000 total Mauser P.38's produced during the war (Jan Still, Axis Pistols). These SVW's are rare, and this one is even more rare because it has an all-phosphate finish. It is all matching and has the proper "Waffen 135" military proofs. The nature of the phosphate finish makes it difficult to rate, but we estimate it has retained about 96-97%. As is typical with phosphate, there is spotty oxidation and discoloration throughout. Fitted with black plastic grips and comes with a rare, late-war, "U" marked, phosphate magazine. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout. De-cocker is functionalSpecifications
