11/21/24 - This is a rare example of a rare Springfield M1899 Krag Carbine altered for the Philippine Constabulary. This Model 1899 Krag Carbine was altered at Springfield Armory circa 1906-1915 to accept the M1905 or Krag Rifle Knife-Bayonet. It has the proper alterations, such as the turned-down muzzle (to accept bayonet socket), installed front barrel band with bayo lug, and installation of shorter carbine stock. The finish on the metal parts rates about 93-94% with general high edge wear and some light brown patina here and there. The wood stock shows bruising but no major damage. We believe the "JFC" marking is not original. Mint bore. Comes with a canvas sling and a brass muzzle cap.
