Description
4/17/25 - This is an excellent example of a Mauser C96 sold in the commercial market during WWI. You'll notice the serial number is outside the normal range. Collectors often refer these as "Scandinavian Contract" pistols. This is not correct, because such contract never existed. These guns are from a smaller series and not as common as the standard 200,000-300,000 plus serial numbered pistols from this period. This particular gun is all matching and "Double Crown U" proofed. It comes as a rig with its original matching-numbered wood stock. There is some eligible writing on the side of the stock. The gun itself has retained about 93% of its original finish with general high edge wear, minor muzzle wear, and some minor wear on the underside of the barrel. The bore has good rifling, but there is very light pin-pricking throughout. Small import mark in the stock lug of the back strap.
