Description
5/7/25 - We have never seen another Engraved Mauser HSC, from the war era like this one. We don't believe they ever factory engraved an HSC, especially one issued to the Nazi army as indicated by waffenamt on trigger guard. However, in looking at the style and quality of the engraving, we are convinced this was done in Germany in the 1943 to 1946 time period. The Oak Leaf style is exactly what was done by the engravers in the Zella-Mehlis area for Walther and other companies. In looking at the detail on the leaves, especially the style of the "veins" in the leaves, we have only ever seen this done by the German engravers of that era. So our best guess is that this was issued to a German officer who paid to have the gun engraved, or captured by a US GI who stayed in Germany in the immediate post war period who then had it engraved. It comes with two correct wartime magazines and wooden grips. The workmanship is top quality. The gun is all matching and the bluing is period correct. Bore is mint. A very desirable collectors piece. It comes as a rig with a scarce, Navy-style leather holster.Specifications
