Description
06/12/26 - This is a pristine, As New In Box example of a 1979 production A. Uberti 1861 Colt Navy replica, imported by Navy Arms Company and chambered in .36 caliber. This particular example is elevated by the presence of the rarer, fluted cylinder. For historical context, only about 100 original Colt 1861 Navy revolvers were ever produced with a fluted cylinder out of the nearly 38,000 manufactured during the Civil War era. Uberti replicated this specific and highly sought-after configuration for dedicated black powder enthusiasts. Furthermore, late 1970s and early 1980s Uberti models imported by Navy Arms are prized over modern generic reproductions for their superior traditional case-hardening and hand-fitting. The right side of the barrel displays the black powder caliber designation, while the underside bears the Navy Arms importer address. The frame features the Uberti maker mark on the left side and Italian proofs with the 1979 AE date code on the right. This revolver is all matching with the serial number 94165 stamped on the bottom of the barrel lug and the front of the frame. The firearm is in mint condition, retaining all of its original factory finish. The deep bluing across the barrel and cylinder is immaculate, not so much as a turn line on the cylinder. The revolver comes housed in its original Navy Arms cardboard box showing typical storage wear, and the serial number on the box is obscured. The bore is mint and the mechanics are smooth. Black powder, so no licensing is required to purchase.
