7/21/26 - This is a near-mint 3rd Generation Colt Signature Series Model 1851 Navy chambered in .36 caliber, complete with its original matching factory box and Colt black powder instruction manual, manufactured during the Colt Blackpowder Arms Signature Series era (1994-2002). This variation follows the classic 1851 Navy pattern with a 7.5-inch octagonal barrel, blue barrel and cylinder, color case hardened frame, hammer, and loading lever, nickel-plated grip straps and trigger guard, smooth walnut grips, and the Sam Colt signature on the backstrap. This particular example is all matching, with the serial stamped on the barrel lug, frame, cylinder, trigger guard, and butt, and the factory box. The proper Saml Colt New-York City barrel address, Colt’s Patent frame marking, and Ormsby naval engagement cylinder scene are all crisp and perfectly defined. It remains in stunning, near-mint condition, retaining virtually all of its original finish with no signs of wear or use, not even a faint turn line on the cylinder, and the bore is similarly mint. The smooth walnut grips are also excellent, showing no chips or cracks. Black powder, so no FFL required.
