Description

08/28/26 - This is an ANIB High Standard Victor in .22 LR, made in 1980 at East Hartford. High Standard had been making target pistols since before WWII. In 1971 they added the Victor to the military grip line, including some key features designed specifically for the bullseye shooting market, the goal being adaptive functionality without the need for aftermarket modification. A rib was added to the top of the slide for easily mounting any compatible sights the shooter preferred, and also allowed easy removal or adjustment. Early Victors used a ventilated steel rib, while later variations, including this example, were switched to an alloy to reduce weight. This pistol also features a 5.5-in slab barrel, gold controls, and the later VICTOR marking on the left frame (later guns removed "THE" from this marking). The pistol is in pristine condition, with the bluing looking like it just left the factory. There are a couple of tiny scratches near the mounting screw on the left side of the ventilated rib. The checkered walnut military grips are also stone mint, with sharp checkering and no signs of damage. The bore is minty. The factory carton is serialized to the gun and comes with the instruction sheet, an unused one-year warranty, and one factory magazine.
