Description
7/30/26 - This is a nice example of one of the small revolvers made by Whitneyville Armory, located in Whitneyville Connecticut. This area, today near Hamden Connecticut, was so named due to its association with the famous Eli Whitney, the inventor of the Cotton Gin. Whitney also manufactured firearms, such as Springfield Muskets, and his son, also named Eli Whitney, followed in his footsteps. The factory was expanded, and the area became known as "Whitneyville", making firearms throughout the 19th century. Eventually, after several consolidations, the factory became "Whitneyville Armory." This one is in nice condition for its age. There is spotty oxidation on the steel parts and minor spotty discoloration on the brass. Some dings in the metal on the cylinder. Fitted with period-correct wood grips - crack on the right side. The bore has great rifling and is fairly shiny overall. But there is some minor pitting here and there. Comes with 9 ammo cartridges. The cylinder does not rotate when the hammer is cocked. No FFL required.
