Description
1/20/26 - This is a very nice example of a Colt Government Model from 1933. This particular gun was shipped to Argentina, as evidenced by the added inventory numbers on the top of the slide and on the barrel (visible in the ejection port). For a short time in the 1930's and before this model became the Sistema Colt, Colt Government Models that went to Argentine were only marked with this added numbering on the slide and barrel and lack any other markings. Production numbers in 1933 range between C164800-C174599, and a total of 9,800 produced. This one is matching and has been completely refinished with a parkerized finish. There is no finish loss to speak of, but there are a few tiny pits on the slide stop. There is a tiny, barely-visible import mark on the frame right next to the mag release button. Fitted with mint wood grips and comes with a un-marked and re-blued magazine (some pitting under the bluing). Mint bore.
