Description
4/10/26- For sale is an Argentine Model 1891 bayonet. The bayonet is unique in having an all-metal construction in an era where wood grips were almost the universal norm. Many nations issued wooden grips on their bayonets through the end of WW2, over 50 years after this bayonet was issued. The blade is very clean with minimal wear and patina. There is some texturing to the metal but it appears to be mostly grease streaks and not damage. The base of the blade is marked "Modelo...1901", along with a spot of damage that likely obscures the national insignia. The blade serial number is H0897. The other side of the blade has the manufacturer stamp from Weyersberg in Germany, a major arms exporter. The handle is made from two panels of textured aluminum that are riveted together. The scabbard is blued and in very nice shape with extremely light wear and no damage. The scabbard is also numbered H0897, making it a matching set. Overall in excellent condition.
