Description
8/10/26 - This is an Astra 600 rig with two magazines (one matching) and correct holster. These were developed starting in 1943 at the request of the German Army, which wanted a smaller version of the Astra 400. The first 50 were delivered as sales samples, then a little over 10,000 were delivered across the Spanish-French border to German Army, and were waffen stamped. This pistol falls into the range just beyond those, as 28,000 Astra 600's went undelivered due to the Allied landings in France and subsequent battles sealing the border. This undelivered range is known as the "second contract", and this pistol falls in that serial block. The original finish rates roughly 85%, with most of the wear on the front strap. One magazine is numbered to the pistol on the bottom, in a style similar to a police numbering. Spare magazine and holster are in good condition and are correct for this piece. Very nice bore with great rifling.
