Description
12/5/25 - This is a fairly rare Astra Model 900 that was manufactured sometime in the early to mid 1930's. The Astra 900 was a pistol developed to take advantage of a large Chinese demand for semiauto pistols with shoulder stocks, following the massive sales of the Mauser C96 in that country. There was a loophole in the international treaty accords that stocked pistols were not considered military arms, so civil war in China had a huge market for arms that this variant was able to meet. There were only ~21,000 of these pistols produced. This one is matching and has retained about 90% of its bluing. Most of the finish loss is along the high edges where the slide meets the frame. There are areas of minor pitting and freckling throughout. Some surface scratches on the left side of the frame. Fitted with period-correct wood grips - numbered and mismatched. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with frosting and oxidation throughout.
