Austrian M1907 Mountain Troop Sabre - Winternitz Steyr

9/15/26 - For sale is a Austrian Model 1907 Enlisted Mountain Troop Sabre manufactured by Winternitz Steyr in 1916. The blade is in good condition with no bending or warping and light patina present. The ricasso bears the Winternitz Steyr maker's mark, just above the "LW Doppeladler 16" imperial acceptance mark. The cross guard and handguard show very little wear and some light patina which is primarily present on the inside of the handguard. The handle is in excellent shape with very minimal damage to the grip coating. The metal braid that is wrapped around the grip is tight with no play, and the metal lines running parallel to the braids are all present and tight, though there is some distortion from handling. The metal scabbard is in good shape, though there does seem to be some surface rust present primarily towards the top of the scabbard. There are signs of a seem or crack running along the front edge of the scabbard, though it shows no signs separation or functional damage.
