Description
5/5/26 - This is a beautiful example of a Colt Army Special .38 revolver from 1915. It is all matching and is personalized with gold inlayed "N.K." initials on the butt of the frame. According to the included Colt factory letter, this gun was shipped to J.M. Sheeperce on March 4, 1915. It also confirms this gun was shipped from the factory with those gold initials on the butt of the frame. The letter we have says "N.R.", which is a typo. The Colt Archives confirmed this and are sending us a corrected letter. The gun also has an "EHS" military inspection mark on the left side of the frame. We couldn't find any information on why this gun would be military proofed, but the marking is clearly authentic, and we believe there would be no reason to fake it. The gun has retained nearly all of its original high polish bluing, but there are a few tiny handling marks here and there and a few tiny dots of surface oxidation on the left side of the barrel and on the cylinder. Fitted with checkered pearl-colored grips. Mint bore.
