2/5/26 - This is a beautiful example of an early Colt Government Model 1911 from 1914. The Colt archives letter has since been lost but an old image of the document is included with the listing, showing that the gun was shipped to Remington UMC Co. on March 12, 1914. It comes with a beautiful wood presentation case (with a pearl plate on the lid), an original owners manual, cleaning rod, and a full box of vintage ammo. The gun itself has retained about 98% of its original high polish Colt bluing. Correct and rare early Colt barrel marked with just a 'P' visible through the ejection port, and a 'J' subinspector mark on the side of the lug. There is just very minor muzzle wear and a few light surface scratches here and there. Fitted with mint wood grips and comes with a two-tone lanyard loop magazine. Mint bore.
