Description
5/14/26 - This is a beautiful, custom-engraved example of a M1921 Mauser "Bolo", manufactured in the 1920's. The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, imposed restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Mauser began manufacturing a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale with shorter, 3.9 inch barrel. This one is all matching, "Double Crown U" proofed, and features a detailed floral engraving pattern throughout. We do not believe this was done at the factory, but the work is clearly professionally done. It is fitted with oak leaf and acorn engraved real ivory grips. The gun shows very little actual finish loss, but there are some tiny dots of discoloration here and there. The bore has good rifling, but there is noticeable pin-pricking throughout.
