Description
2/19/26 - This is a beautiful example of a rare 1942 Mauser Police Luger with a complete serial-matching rig, including two matching magazines, matching holster, and matching Luger tool. There were only 6,500 police Lugers distributed in 1942 (serial range 2300y-8300y), about 6% of all of the Lugers during that year. The Luger itself is all-matching, and even has both original grip panels that are serialized to the gun. The gun has retained about 97% of its original finish. There is some light muzzle wear, an area of wear on the front of the right slide rail, some high-edge wear on the trigger plate, and a small area just behind the trigger plate. The matching-numbered grip panels are in great shape with no signs of cracks or chips. The bore on this Luger is bright with a beautiful mirrored finish. This Mauser comes with two matching magazines (numbered 2 and 3, as police were often given 3 serialized total). The Luger tool is in excellent condition with the serial number present on the face of the tool. Completing the package is a 1939 brown leather holster in excellent condition. There are some wear marks on the holster, but no signs of damage to the integrity of the holster itself. All stitching is in great shape and fittings are tight.
