SOLD - Beautiful Type 97 Japanese Sniper Rifle

4/3/19 - This is a very early example of the Japanese Type 97 sniper rifle, made at the Kokura factory. It retains about 97% of its original bluing and has a ground mum (common on these Japanese rifles). The bluing is original and spectacular, with no pitting or spotting, and with minimal wear present on the high points, with thinning on the buttplate as well. All numbers match including the stock. Excellent bore and wood without defects, other than the normal field wear (usual nicks and scratches). Sharp proof marks on metal and wood and on top of the buttplate. The rifle is complete with an original mismatched scope with excellent dated scope can with intact straps. The optics are in great condition. A great, all original, bring-back Japanese sniper.
