Description
2/13/26 - This is a beautiful example of a Walther PPK from 1935. It is all matching with the proper "Crown N" proofs. It has retained about 98% of its original high polish bluing with just a hint of muzzle wear and a couple of tiny spots of discoloration on the slide. Mint bore. It comes as a rig with a minty tan leather Akah holster, owners manual, one finger extension magazine, and one flat bottom magazine. The inside of the holster has two distinct ink stamps. One is mostly illegible but appears to be the ink stamp of a gun store in Berlin-Spandau. The other has a name "Dr. Ernst Jahn, Diplomchemiker". Diplomchemiker means certified/graduate chemist. Using the National Archives, the previous owner was able to find a Dr. Ernst Jahn, a graduate chemist born in 1907 and a registered NSDAP party member in Gau, Berlin. Included with the rig is a photocopy of Dr. Jahn's party card along with his photo. It is hard to read, but it is marked "Chemiker" (for chemist), states that he joined the party in 1930, and has a member number of 325169. Unfortunately, the stamp on the holster is the only thing we have connecting this rig to Dr. Ernst Jahn. There is nothing directly connecting the gun to this holster or the man. But circumstantial evidence would lead us to believe that a commercial gun made in 1935 would make sense for him.
