Description
4/20/26 - The Type IV New Model Melior is a late variant of the Belgian Melior 6.35mm pistol, likely produced between the late 1920s and early 1930s. It was developed as a direct competitor to the Walther Model 9, adopting several of its design features such as a compact size, under-barrel recoil spring, and top ejection. The pistol retains Melior’s unique construction with a separate breech block and includes notable features like a grip safety, internal hammer, and an external connector system. Compared to earlier models, it features slight grip and magazine changes, and its improved safety design made it suitable for carrying with a round chambered. This one has Belgian proofs throughout, but there are also British export proofs. Comes as a rig with a thin pigskin leather holster and one magazine. The gun's bluing rates about 97% with just hints of high edge wear and few tiny handling marks here and there. Fitted with period-correct black plastic grips. The bore shows minor pitting throughout.
