10/28/24 - For sale is a MAS 49-56 rifle made for the French army in the 60s. The rifle was imported by Century Arms and was rechambered for 7.62 NATO. The MAS 49-56 was an updated variant of the MAS 49 series of rifles to be a smaller, handier carbine. The metal on the rifle is well-worn and has a smoothed parkerized finish. The stock and forestock are replacements from refurbishment. The rifle has mismatched serial numbers. The receiver is stamped P77 for a 1977 refurbishment. the Caliber 7.62 is stamped over the original 7.5 and .308 is stamped below. The bore is bright but has signs of wear from use. The rifle comes with the original transit box from Century, as well as 3 magazines, the bayonet, night sights, and a cleaning brush.
