9/17/26 - This is a parts kit for a British BSA Lewis Gun. The BSA .303 Lewis Gun is a British-manufactured light machine gun produced by the Birmingham Small Arms Company and chambered in .303 British. Designed by American inventor Isaac Newton Lewis, the Lewis Gun became one of the most recognizable automatic weapons of World War I, featuring its distinctive top-mounted pan magazine, finned aluminum barrel cooling jacket, and gas-operated action. BSA produced large numbers for British and Commonwealth forces, and the Lewis saw extensive service with infantry units and aboard early military aircraft. Renowned for being relatively portable and reliable for its era, it remained in British service into World War II and is today an iconic example of early 20th-century military arms design. All of the parts included with this parts kit have been photographed. All of the parts show honest wear, signs of age, and areas of minor oxidation. The receiver has been noticeably destroyed and torch cut in several places (see photos). The bore has pretty good rifling with frosting throughout. No major damage to the wood.
