Out of Sequence" BYF42 Mauser Luger Rig - Featured in "The Mauser Parabellum 1930-1946"

3/25/26 - This is what is characterized as an “out of sequence” range gun and is the exact gun shown on page 264 of “The Mauser Parabellum 1930-1946” by Don R. Hallock and Joop van de Kant. Since the byf 42 production ceased with the “n” block for the Bulgarian Contract, there was no “p” block, so the authors speculate that this gun was made in 1943 where there was no need to follow the suffix precedent (as the P.38s were being made) or this gun was made from a rejected 1941 frame, re-worked and passed military inspections in 1942 and was used with a 1942 slide and toggle (which they conclude is the most likely scenario). The salt blue finish rates about 96% with very minor high edge / muzzle wear with a couple of very light surface scratches on the left side of the gun. The bore has great rifling with just very light frosting in the grooves. Correct bakelite grip panels with no flattened checkering or cracking, or other issues. Hold open works as designed with both correct blued E/37 fxo Black Widow bakelite mags. Rig comes with a rare E/135 loading tool (the E/135 marking is not original) and a black leather holster with black stitching - stamped cta41 (Code for A. Waldhausen Inh. M. Buchmann, Sattler und Kofferfabrik, Koln) with an E/WaA195 military acceptance stamp. It is in generally good condition with some softening at the toe and wear showing on the leather strap with tight stitching and no tears or gashes in the leather. This rig came out of the Don R. Hallock Collection – Co-Author of the “The Mauser Parabellum 1930-1946” book.
