Description
10/26/26 - This is an original example of U.S. Navy issued Camillus Mark 2 fighting knife with scabbard. Maker and model designations properly stamped into the handguard. The blade is in fair overall condition, showing signs of previous use and very mild sharpening along the edge. Roughly half of the original blue remains. The majority of the blade faces show thinning, scrapes and scuffs, mild surface patina, and aging discoloration. The original scabbard is properly stamped with the maker's mark, naval designation, and model name. There is a significant repair at the top of the scabbard where adhesive was used to bond what looks to be a significant crack, leaving the tip slightly off-line. Cracks and material distress show on either side of this repair. The repair appears successful, with the scabbard fits well and functions exactly as it should. Additionally, the metal fitting shows patina, the snaps have age-related oxidation and areas of verdigris, and the canvas has some discoloration and tearing in a couple of spots, but is mostly in great shape. The leather grip is excellent, with nothing loose or damaged, showing only mild areas of natural aging and light signs of use, and a bit of mild material loss at the very bottom section. Pommel and handguard show aged patina and aging, but retain perfect shape and functionality.
