Description
4/29/26 - This is a minty example of a Colt Model 1911A1 made in 1970 to commemorate the African-European-Middle Eastern Theatre during WW2 and the 25th anniversary of Germany's surrender. It is nickel-plated and is engraved with the locations of key battles during the war. The gun comes with 7 nickel-plated .45 ACP cartridges and a velvet-lined wood display case. On the inside of the display case is a photo of Germany's surrender in Rheims and a name plate that reads "World War II Commemorative, African-European-Middle Easter Theatre, December 11th, 1941 - May 7th, 1945". It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Colt, a copy of a "Commemorative Colt's" pamphlet, and a copy of the "Colt's Commemorative Edition of The American Heritage Picture History of World War II" Book by C.L. Sulzberger. From the Certificate: "This is one of two issues commemorating the 25th anniversary of the ending of hostilities in this last great world conflict". The gun shows no actual wear from use, but there are a few tiny dots of discoloration here and there. Fitted with smooth wood grips. Mint bore.
