09/02/26 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor chambered in .45-70 Gov't and made in 1890. The rifle is in good shape for its age with the bluing replaced with a browned patina/oxidation. The trapdoor has lost its case-hardened finish. The stock is clean with numerous handling marks, but no cracks or breaks. There is a "VB" in a box scratched into the left side of the buttstock. The bore is bright with strong handling, but there is a prickling of shallow pitting visible at the muzzle. Action functions properly.
