Description
10/16/25 - This is a beautiful Colt Government Model .45 ACP pistol from Colt’s World War I Commemorative Series, produced in 1968 to honor the Battle of Belleau Wood (June 1918). This series was manufactured in four variants (Château-Thierry, Belleau Wood, Meuse-Argonne, and the final “General Pershing” edition), each commemorating a major American engagement during WWI. The Belleau Wood edition features high-polish blue finish with gold-filled slide etchings, including decorative scrollwork and commemorative markings on both sides. It comes with smooth walnut grips with inlaid gold medallions. This model was part of a limited production of approximately 7,400 pistols, making it one of the scarcer variations in the series compared to Château-Thierry and Meuse-Argonne editions. Mechanically, it is built on Colt’s classic 1911 pattern and was intended as a collector’s item rather than for regular firing use. This one is in mint condition with no signs of wear or use. Comes with its original commemorative display case.
