Description
3/14/26 - This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942 that has been reworked at some point, possibly during WW2. The slide and frame do not match, however they are both Colt manufactured parts from 1942 and 1943. The frame is "United States Property" marked, has the "W.B." inspection initials, and a "P" by the magazine release. The barrel is horizontally marked "SP" on the left lug indicating that it is a WW2 field replacement barrel manufactured by Springfield. The gun's slide appears to have been reparkerized at some point. The gun has almost all of its finish but there is discoloration on the left slide underneath the legend. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with a post-war magazine. Bore is bright with strong rifling but there is some light frost.
