Description
7/30/20 - The Colt Frontier or Frontier Six-Shooter was a Colt's 1873 "Model P" type revolver manufactured in .44-40 Winchester caliber instead of .45 Colt (in which configuration it was called the Single Action Army) so that it was compatible with Winchester Model 1873 ammunition. Production began in 1877, and this one was made in 1906 so a license is required. This one is matching and original but shows obvious thinning and patina throughout. This rich patina is often desirable to collectors for these old Colts as it shows the revolver is unmolested. There's also surface freckling on most of the metal. Action is smooth/correct. Bore is shiny with strong rifling but has some pits in the grooves. Original hard rubber grips show some smoothing but no cracks. Barrel is 4.5 inches.Specifications
