Description
5/20/22 - This is an original Colt 1877 Lightning revolver from 1909. The Model 1877 was Colt's first attempt at a double action revolver and is chambered for the .38 Long Colt cartridge. It has an outward appearance similar to that of the famous Single Action Army with a solid frame and loading gate. This revolver wears a 4-1/2" barrel with ejector rod. The serial number is matching on frame, trigger guard, grip frame, and cylinder. The original blue is in great shape overall with some minor thinning on the cylinder and barrel, and some finish loss on the back of the grip frame. The receiver still has excellent case hardening aside from some wear above the screw on the left side. Trigger, screws and back of hammer still have original fire blue. There is a picture of the factory letter in the online listing but the seller lost the actual letter. The factory letter indicates it was shipped to F. Peters, a retailer in several major cities worldwide.Specifications
