Description
2/10/26 - This is a Colt / Remington Model 1911A1. The frame was made by Colt in 1918, and the slide was made by Remington Rand in WW2. WW2 High Standard barrel. The handgun originally came with paperwork from Benicia Arsenal (as shown in the listing pictures) providing evidence of arsenal reworking. The paperwork has since been lost and unfortunately will not be included in the sale. This gun was likely re-worked for use during WW2. The finish on the gun rates at about 75%. Most of the wear is on the frame of the gun including the grip straps and areas near the trigger guard. There is also general high edgewear. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips. The left grip has a spot of smooth wear near the top screw. Bore has good rifling. Comes with a US Boyt M43 shoulder holster with good stitching and pliable leather straps. Also comes with a WW2-era "L" marked magazine.
