Description
4/16/26 - This is a very nice Colt Model 1909 revolver issued to the US Army in 1911. All matching with the proper early Colt "surfboard" logo and "United States Property" marking. "RAC" military markings throughout, even on the bottom edges of the grip panels. It comes as a rig with a 1944-dated tan leather holster with leather lanyard. The gun has retained about 90% of its original high polish bluing. The vast majority of the finish loss is on the back strap (where there is also brown patina) and an area on the left side of the frame. There is also general high edge wear, muzzle wear, roll marks on the cylinder, and some areas of very light freckling here and there. Fire-bluing on the small parts. Nice period-correct wood grips - bruising on both sides. Mint bore.
