Converted WW1 German Luger Holster

7/30/26 - Here we have a unique German Luger holster for sale. This holster began its life in 1916 as a Navy Luger Holster made by Rich. Hanel Dresden as identified by the maker mark under the flap and the Navy marking on the rear of the holster. There is also a serial number on the rear of the holster which is common for WW1 Navy Luger holsters. The holster survived the war and remained in Germany. Sometime between 1934 and 1936, this holster was repurposed at an arsenal to hold a standard 4" Luger for the German Military. We know this because of the acceptance proof style on the rear of the holster. During this conversion, the Navy straps were removed on the front and back of the holster, the cleaning rod compartment was removed, reinforcement stitching was added to the rear of the holster (in typical WW2 style), a new closure strap was added, and the holster was dyed black. There are still stitching holes were the old pieces were removed (the front of the holster, the rear of the holster, the holster flap, and beneath the magazine pouch). The exterior of the holster is in good shape but shows some wear. There is some cracking on the flap and on the front of the holster. There is light scuffing throughout. The stitching is intact throughout.
