Description

5/5/26 - This is a minty example of an early Colt Match Target Woodsman, manufactured in 1938 and chambered in .22 LR. According to the included Colt Factory Letter, it was shipped to R.S. Elliott Arms Company in Kansas City, Missouri on December 10, 1938. The entire gun features a beautiful and intricate floral engraving pattern throughout, and the edges are gold inlayed. According to our consignor, this work was done by Ivan Sterry in Badlands, SD. The gun comes with a peirod-correct box (not numbered), a black leather holster, one magazine, owners manual, cleaning rod (still sealed in envelop), and wax paper packaging. The gun shows virtually no signs of actual wear or use, but there is surface rust under the grips - visible around the edges of the back strap. Mint bore.
