Description

9/30/20 - This is an original Dreyse Model 1907. The Dreyse Model 1907 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Louis Schmeisser. The gun was named after Nikolaus von Dreyse, the designer of the Dreyse Needle Gun. The pistol had an interesting feature for the time: when the gun was ready to fire, the firing pin projected through the back of the breech block, serving as an early handgun-cocking indicator. It was produced from 1907 to 1915. The caliber is 7.65 and was later made in 9mm. This particular gun has retained about 95% of its original bluing. While there is little actual finish loss, there is pitting on the gun throughout. The areas most noticeable are on the straps. There are areas of finish loss on the underside of the frame near the muzzle, on the front strap, and on the back strap. The bore has weak rifling and pitting throughout. The grips are nice, but there is wear on the left panel. Comes with one period-correct magazine.
