Description
10/30/20 - This is a nice example of a "dual-tone" Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. Its "dual-tone" appearance is caused by a phosphate frame and slide and a blued barrel. This one is all matching and has the proper "Waffen 135" Nazi military acceptance proofs. This particular gun has a serial number in the D block. The nature of the phosphate finish on the frame and slide makes the finish difficult to rate as most of the phosphate is thin. Our best estimate is roughly 70%. There is wear around the muzzle and high edges of the slide. Thinning on the front strap. There is spotty oxidation throughout. It comes with nice black plastic grips - just some handling marks, most noticeable on the left panel. It also comes with a late-war phosphate "P.38 U" magazine. The bore is shiny with strong rifling - minor freckling in the grooves. It is fully functional, including the de-cocker.Specifications
