Description
7/29/26 - This is a nice example of a DWM Model 1906 Navy Luger issued to the German Navy during WWI. All matching with the proper "Crown M" Navy acceptance proofs and a "I.T.D. 1041." unit marking on the back strap, indicating this gun was issued to the I. Torpedo Division. There is a "Germany" export marking on the underside of the barrel. The safety was altered to the 2nd-issue configuration and is now in the lower position. This gun also has what we believe to be an old arsenal-reapplied finish, likely done at an arsenal when the safety was altered. There is noticeable finish loss and spotty oxidation, mostly concentrated along the barrel, on the grip straps, on the side plate, and around the high edges. There is some pin-pricking in those same areas. Fitted with wood grips - the right is numbered and mismatched, the left is un-numbered. Comes with a mismatched but period-correct Navy magazine. The bore has great rifling, but there is some frosting in the grooves.
