Description
9/11/26 - This is an early Erfurt Luger issued to the German imperial Army during WW1 in 1912. It is all matching and has the proper Erfurt and German Imperial proofs. The rear toggle pin is un-numbered but marked with a Prussian Eagle. This is an early gun with no stock lug on the rear grip strap and no hold-open (one has since been added). There is a "91. R. 3. 4." unit marking on the front strap. This stands for Infantry Regiment 91, Company 3, weapon number 4. This was part of the 19th Infantry Division, rated as a first class division in WWI. The gun has retained roughly 80-85% of its bluing. The finish loss is concentrated on the grip straps, on the side plate, and along the barrel. There are areas of spotty oxidation and pin-pricking throughout - some more noticeable pitting along the barrel. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered and Erfurt-proofed wood grips. Comes with a mismatched but period-correct Erfurt magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is light pin-pricking throughout.
