Description
3/26/26 - This is an example of an early Colt Government Model 1911 from 1913. This gun comes with a laminated letter from the Colt Archives Department. According to the letter, this gun was one of six guns that were shipped to the Seattle Hardware Company for commercial sale on June 18, 1913. The gun itself has retained roughly 75-80% of its original high polish Colt bluing. There is general high edge wear and muzzle wear. In addition to that, there is finish loss and brown oxidation along both sides of the slide, especially the right side. There is also some wear/thinning on the grip straps. The small parts still show an excellent fire blue finish. Fitted with excellent wood grips that have a few small dents. The gun has a two-tone lanyard loop magazine. Bore has nice rifling but there is some frosting.
