Description
07/23/26 - For sale is a Colt AR-15 Sp1 chambered in .223 Remington and made in 1964. The rifle is in excellent condition with a nice phosphate finish and faint surface wear from age. There are some casting flaws on the lower receiver between the upper receiver and the stock. The lower receiver is a correct slab side with the (+) mark on the sidewall. The stock, grip, and forend have surface wear, but are in great shape overall. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The side of the barrel is marked with a W for Winchester. The bolt is a correct early example without the forward assist grooves. The bolt head is marked with an M and P. The recoil buffer is an original Edgewater. The trigger group is original with a Circle E marked on the hammer. The rifle comes with a Colt Archives letter noting it was manufactured in November 16th, 1964 and was shipped to Buck's Gun Rack in Daytona Beach, Florida. Also included is a spare triangular handguard, original Colt dealer catalogue, sling, a vintage Colt SP1 Magazine ad, and a copy of "A Collector's Guide to the Colt AR-15 SP1 Sporter Rifle" by Perry Cox and Bruce Kaufman.
