Description
5/29/26 - This is an early Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver manufactured for the U.S. Army. Bearing the correct, early 'GHS' marking, this 1917 has retained about 80-85% of its original finish. Most finish loss presents as high-edge wear and muzzle wear. There is also some signs of oxidation just above the grip panel and some freckling behind the cylinder on the right side of the frame. Additionally, there is some finish loss on the top strap as well as the left and right sides of the barrel. The bore in the 5.5" barrel is bright and has good rifling, though the rifling shows some wear and the bore shows frost throughout. The wood grip plates on this revolver are in good condition with no chips or cracks. Mechanically sound with proper lock-up and timing. Comes with half-moon clips.
