Description
4/12/26 - This is an example of a Makarov made by Ernst Thalmann in East Germany in 1960. It is all matching and does not appear to be import marked. It comes as a rig with a mint black leather holster and two matching-numbered magazines. The gun has retained roughly 85-90% of its high polish finish. There is general high edge wear, wear around the muzzle, wear on the right side of the slide, and a line of finish loss on the front strap. The gun is fitted with an early "experimental" pistole M grip. These grips have a different color/colors to them than your traditional black grips and are only seen on early guns. They are rare. When light is shone on the grip, specks of browns, reds, oranges, and greens can be seen. The bore has sharp rifling, but it is a bit dull. The gun comes in a very good condition East German black holster that is ink stamped on the interior. In addition, the gun is accompanied by a 30-year anniversary badge for the East German Stasi (Secret Security) Organization. The badge is in great shape except for a crack in the plastic on the right side of the badge.
