Description
9/1/26 - This is a nice example of an East German unlicensed copy of the Walther PP. Known as the Model P1001, these guns were made in the Ernst Thalmann factory in the 1950's. They were most often issued to the East German police and military forces. It is matching (the right side of the slide has been re-numbered to match), has an import mark on the left side of the frame, and has the proper West German proofs. It comes as a rig with a post-war Walther finger extension magazine, one wartime PP magazine, and a post-war brown leather holster. The gun has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its finish. The majority of the wear is on the grip straps, where there is also brown patina. Very minor muzzle wear with a few tiny marks and scratches on the slide. Fitted with un-marked black bakelite grips. The bore has great rifling with some very light frosting in the grooves.
