Description
3/6/25 - The BC-1000 is part of a series of backpack radios that were designed to provide wireless communication in the field. Specifically, it was known for being a portable, man-pack radio, allowing soldiers to communicate over medium to long-range distances in combat situations. The BC-1000 was a shortwave radio used primarily for transmitting and receiving signals in various frequency bands. The BC-1000 was one of several types of radios used by the U.S. military during World War II, with others like the BC-604 and SCR radio being more commonly used for different communication needs. The BC-1000 played an important role in ensuring soldiers could stay in contact with their units and command structures during key operations. This particular example comes in pretty good condition with minimal issues to the outer body, just one minor dent(See Photos), and light paint wear/fading. All of the dials on the control interface move and operate as they should. All of the jacks are clean internally and don't appear to have any rust or corrosion issues. One thing that is missing is the shoulder straps; however, the waist strap and back padding are intact and are in decent shape. Included with the radio is one short-range antenna and 1 TS-15 phone(See photos of slightly un-sleeved cable). Also included is the wearable headset. This radio is untested and does not come with the battery that powers the unit; however, the radio does seem to have everything needed for it to be functional.Specifications
