Description
3/12/26 - This is an excellent example of an end-of-war Smith & Wesson Victory revolver with the original box. This was one of the first sold to the US commercial market in the 1940's after the end of WWII. It has a 4 inch barrel and comes with the matching-numbered box. The “SV” prefix was introduced to indicate the addition of an improved hammer block safety system. This Victory is all-matching with the barrel, cylinder, crane, star extractor, and grip panel all serialized to the frame. This S&W has retained about 95% of its original blued finish. Most of the finish loss on the gun exists as muzzle wear, light high-edge wear, and some wear in front of the hammer on the top strap. The cylinder has a light turn line, and some high-edge wear towards the front of the chambers. The bottom of the trigger guard shows light pin pricking throughout. This revolver comes fitted with number-matching wood grip panels. The bore in the 4" barrel has been well maintained. It is bright with mirroring throughout with signs of light use. Mechanically sound with proper lock-up and timing. Comes with the original matching-numbered Smith & Wesson box.
