8/10/26 - For sale is a British Enfield Pattern 1856 Carbine made in 1858. The metal has an aged finish with areas of patina and light prickling on some of the surfaces. The stock had been sanded and has a smooth texture. There are two cracks on each side of the toe of the stock. There is also a hairline crack about 1" in length behind the tang. Another 1" crack in front of the buttplate screw on top, and one behind the lock plate on the right side. There is a scratch on the left side of the buttstock but is not a crack. The bore is in fair condition. There is a faint brightness, but the surface is oxidized. The carbine has a nipple protector attached to the trigger guard loop with a leather cover. The action functions properly.
