8/11/25 - For sale is an Enfield Model 1860 short rifle made at the Tower of London in 1868. The rifle is in good shape for its age, and many of these had been used by both sides of the US Civil War. The rifle has a nice patina'd finish throughout with freckles of old oxidation. The lockplate is stamped "1868 Tower" and the Crown. The stock is in mostly good shape but there are multiple cracks spreading from the buttplate. The largest being 5" in length. The bore is still mostly shiny towards the bottom, but there is browned oxidation at the muzzle. The cleaning rod is absent.
