Description
5/14/26 - This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is all correct and has a proper "H P" barrel. According to the included Colt Factory letter, it was shipped to a Commanding Officer at the Ordnance Base Depot in Jersey City, NJ on January 21, 1918. The gun has retained about 95% of its original bluing with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, a hint of thinning on the front strap, a small area of wear on the back strap, a few small dots of oxidation here and there, and a few very light surface scratches to next to the right grip panel. Fitted with period-correct checkered wood grips (tiny chip on the left side) and comes with a proper two-tone lanyard loop magazine. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is noticeable pin-pricking throughout.
