Description
10/19/26 - This is an excellent example of a Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1936. After Mauser Oberndorf took over P.08 production from DWM in the early 1930s, its Lugers were marked with the secret "S/42" code on the toggle to conceal the maker's identity as Germany quietly rearmed, and pre-war guns like this one were built with the same care and fit as the commercial pistols. It is all matching with the proper "Eagle 63" military acceptance proofs, and it is fitted with minty, unnumbered wood grips. It comes as a rig with one original matching-numbered magazine, one blank-bottom period-correct magazine, a proper "Eagle 63" tool, and an excellent 1936-dated holster maker-marked "Gebrüder Kunze Dresden 1936", with the name "Fritz" written on the inside of the flap. The finish rates about 96%, with just minor high edge and muzzle wear, a small area of very light spotty oxidation on the left side of the muzzle, and very minor dulling on the grip straps. The bore has strong rifling and is mostly shiny, with a few small dots of oxidation here and there. A high-condition pre-war 1936 Mauser Luger, complete as a period rig.
